Attention Student Teachers and Teachers! Don’t know which of the dozens of resume formats to use? Can’t think of what to write in your cover letter? Do you know what to say in an interview? Or what to wear? Find out at the Chong Wa Education Society Resume Writing & Interview Tips Workshop!

What: A workshop full of valuable research-based info on writing a superb resume, an effective cover letter and how to present yourself in an interview; presented by Cal Kam (ckam@cityu.edu), former teacher, principal, HR director; current adjunct instructor, field supervisor.

My lecture note

1. one page of a cover letter ( aka. a letter of interest)

2. no more 2 pages of  resume   (Font 10 -12, bold, italic, underline)

Certificate separate from education

3. Salary will be different. 

4. Don't leave a gap. Even child-rearing is fine

5. 100 clock hours for five years,   3 clock hours per year.

6. Diversity (Disabled, retarded to physical challenge, neural divergent)

7. Eye contact    (dishonest, immigrant background, above job requirement)

What strategies would you use to close the achievement gap of a diverse classroom?

Trust, assessment (formative and summative ) and differentiation. Summarize at the end of the talking.
